That 6.39 A/D is one heck of a Number for a V8 2 Carb motor without power Adders. Heck put 2 stages of NOS on it it would be A T/AD

Just how good is 6.39 in A/D?

I was just wondering if a P/S car can run in the 6.5?'s zone at 2350 and 500 inches, that same engine combo in a dragster with approx. 650 lbs. less weight, what is it capable of running? On paper it seems VERY fast. What do ya'll think?

I think that Bob Book is showing what it is capable of running. I know what you are getting at with the weight, but I think there is a point in time where rules like that do not apply. If we used horsepower and weight rules then top fuel cars would be getting down the track in like a half a second. I think it is way harder than it looks to get a car with 1400 hp at 1700 lbs down the track.

All I'll say is that you have a very good point. 1400 HP + 1700 lbs= tough choices for us in the bellhousing!!!! LMAO!

Craig,
It is possible the Book's are not showing the full potential of there car ( smart move ). If your not to busy this winter stick an A/D together and show us it's full potential.:D

A: is the dragster running a 5 speed?
B: Have the books spent the money to buy a motor from greg anderson?
C: I would like to know if the chassis development on that kind of dragster is anywhere near what it is in pro stock? Also, is the dragster dead on minimum weight?

Just some questions.

This may be the understatement of the year!

BTW Brian-nice start by the tribe last night and nice work by the fans respect to a certain member of the Cavs and his Yankees hat.

Dave,
Guess your not a Yankee fan?

I paaak the caaa in Haaavaaad yaaad! No I didn't go to college there-I went to Northeastern-Fenway was about a 15 minute walk (something people in both New York and Boston do all the time) away. These days, teaching in a NY state college, I have lots of Yankee fans in my classes. However one of my former students, who is one of the top economists on Wall Street, has just written an article for his firm's client in which he talks about how now that it's October, two things events will occur as they have in the past five years: the talk of recession will fade, as will the Yankees.

Well I'm ashamed to say that I live in the Chicago area actually (about 45 miles away) from " DA CITY" and 40 years ago I gave up on the Cubs as well as the Bears----Occasionally an anomaly will happen and they get into the playoffs but I really feel sorry for those die hard fans it's like betting on a crippled horse---They hope and hope and hope and they never get anywhere--- And as they say around here about the Cubs "Wait til next year" well guess what next year is only 1 game away!!!!!! All over on Sat PM---Dick

You know what they say in Chicago..."It's spring training and you know what that means...The Cubs & White Sox have been mathematically eliminated from post season play!!!"

PEEDUDE
BOOK DOES HIS OWN STUFF....PLUS carbs for most other good racers!!!!

A. Yes
B. My dad and I build our own motor
C. We make 20-40 runs a year(if we're lucky enough to go a few rounds here and there) And no on the weight.

Thanks Bob, I reread my post and I wanted to make sure you knew I did not mean it in a patronizing way, I suspected what the answers were. Just making a point on whoever made the pro stock comparison. I did not have a clue on the transmission the car had.
