Where did I ever say I wanted anybody to tag my index!!!! you miss alot when you speed read a thread.... I only accept the fact that someone in my class that has the ability, could hit it with or with out my permission.... Bottom line all bs aside this rule amendment would do nothing to level the playing field so why would I be swayed...

Well just from reading the bio on his website I would be forced to assume that he is another long time racer with many successes in the sport. So I would assume if he was to race comp he is capable of going into the top half of the field, thus searching for anything he could use to hold on to his advantage just like you. So again feel free to refer to my list! The guy has used parts on his website for sale that cost more than some people make in a month so by your theory anybody except Lee Sharp and Arnie Martel are little guys?

Little guy is the wrong term, I just don't know what the right term is. How about the majority....if you are running Comp, you probably got more money than the next guy. Your goal...to level the playing field, is honorable, but any change to protect indexes has to be viewed as a step in that direction...for everyone, not just the "richer" ones.

Whether you believe it or not, Pete, I would like for nothing to change, but who gives a crap what I would like, I think this under average would be better for Comp., little guy or otherwise.

Example Allstars
#1 -.630
#2 -.629
#3 -.599
#4 -.587
added together -2.445
divided by 4 =-.61125
So in this example Bruno would get to keep an extra dime come Monday?? If so I think I finally see how this will help the rest of the class come Monday!!!! get the fuck outta here with that shit!!!! He cut a .145 light and ran it out to a -.659 to win. He deserves to be punished in index not rewarded!!!!!!!

Correct and he would be less punished under the proposed system!!! I've personally worked with enough turbo/supercharged cars to know there is a limit to how much u can crank um up before they pop, NHRA just has ridiculously soft indexes towards them...

Yes, he would be less punished under the proposed system, but because of his soft index he still will lose more (cause he's got more to lose) than , say, a C/A. .02 is a big hit to a C/A, .05 to DD/AT is not. So if the C/A is spared the .02 (if the hit point was -62) but he still ran -65 to win, he loses 3, maybe not as good as losing 5, but at least the hard index C/A was spared.

The turbo classes are here to stay, there are pro's and con's associated with running them, but there are lots of reasons why there aren't more of them, they're tough to keep consistent.

OK, Pete, the proposed system is a bad idea, cause it helps the rich, is leaving it alone going to adequately protect the "little guy" from hits at altitude and mineshafts?

I see your point . When we got in comp if you could run 50 under you was a bad dude.It will never be like that again,so many classes and now the turbo cars to deal with.

Rampy hits the index first round ,hard to belive. Some of the other A/EA cars was having trouble being competive so now what.I guess he is tired of lifting to save somebody else`s index. But he is still a 60 under player.

Under avg

Hey Guys,
That race where Rampy went .622 under was a good one. It lookes like he had the light, but went past Voges' equal .622 under with a little too much stripe. I don't think you could blame anyone for hitting either index on that race. It was just a good DRAG RACE!!
