I am shocked.. He was just here a couple of weeks ago stopping in to say hi, he said business was going good and was talking about some new heads or something. He looked good..... I cant beleive it. I had a lot of fun with you guys down at the dyno, Rick was a ball of energy and very passionate about drag racing and trying to find a little more power. My heart goes out to you and the family, please give me a call and let me know if I can do anything. 253-922-8891

I have known Rick for over 20 years. What a shock he looked great and was as energetic as ever the last time I saw him. We have all lost a great competitor, and freind. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Sad news indeed. I talked to him at a few races this summer. Just goes to show how precious our time is. God Speed Rick.

Arnie, my dad and I would like to pass along our condolences as well. We will be thinking about you and Rick's family this holiday season. Rick will be sorely missed! We were all very lucky for the time and friendships we had with him. Godspeed to Rick

Rick was a class act. In 2004, I went to the Seatle national event by myself due to my dad having some last minute business to take care of. As the weekend progressed, during the second round, I blew out a rear axle bearing. While I was going over to Mark Willimas, Rick, along with his crew and others, took out the rear end and got the car back together within a short period of time. I won the following round and got into Sunday. Rick offered all of the help and even towed my car to the staging lanes on Sunday. If it wasn't for his help, I wouldn't have made the following round. Rick offered what he had as if we knew each other for a long time. I would have to call that weekend one of the most fun I'd had racing! Jirka was even packing ice in my suit to keep me cool!
While, at times, we get upset about dealings with racing, such as rule changes, indexes, etc...we tend to over look things that are more important. Developing friendships with your fellow racers and having something in common with them makes going to races more fun and enjoyable. I wish all the Best to Rick's family and friends in this time.

Sad news... I found out on Sunday morning from Ryan Warter that Rick had passed. Rick has been racing for along time, both as a Driver and a Crew Chief and was a very competitive guy. The last time I saw Rick was a the Mission points race this past year and he was looking forward to getting back out racing, too bad his life ended short. My heart goes out to his family and his friends... God Speed Rick.
