Steve correct me if I'm wrong but if Beckley can qualify top half, shouldnt you be able to? He seems to be able to overcome all of these hits while you come on the internet and whine about them. You both have basically the same equipment. We all know its in there just go find it. You are having a great season so hang in there and mess with that combo until you make it happen. When we ran F/A we started off going 8.40's and by the end held the record at 8.07. In that time span we might have picked up 10 horsepower. We found 3 tenths in four link, shocks, sprnigs, tires, tire pressure, trans ratios, weight distribution, wheelie bar height, clutch settings, starting line rpm, shift rpm, timing ect.. Fire up that racepak, put your nose in your log book, and something will hit you but I dont think you are going to find any sympathy on this site for your recent index hits. It is still a run-able class.

Team Tanksley, lets clear the air on a couple of issues;
1-My post is titled "Comp Code of Arms", not "Lets bash the Tanksleys"
2- My post has 12 points named, none of which refer to yourselves. The only person called out in my post is Dean Carter, as an example of what can be acheived.
3-Why you feel so defensive is beyond me BUT I can assure you if I have a problem with you or one of your post', I don't need to hide behind half-assed smart-assed remarks, anybody who knows me knows I call it as I see it, good, bad or indifferent.
4- The only post refered to as "Garbage", is my own post, read it closely and you will see. Please don't flatter yourselves by thinking you are that high on my list.
5-Comp is tough enough without people like yourselves taking "potshots" at anybody that does not fit your way of thinking. Please quit embarrassing yourselves by stooping to such lows - it really is pathetic. I have an enourmous amount of respect for anybody that is willing to ATTEMPT to run this class called COMP, even the Tanksleys.
6- Never did say I was against debate but let the debate run its course. You don't have to fight one side of the debate all by yourselves, Debates are like ultimatums/ sometimes people don't pick the side you want, that's just life.
7- Pretend that you actually own tools and work on your car at the races. To insinuate that when you leave your house and go to the track and not tune your car is rediculus, remember, most of us here have been to the track a time or two and more often then not, whind up working on our cars ALOT.
8-I have tried my best not to make this a personal attack BUT you need to clean up your responses and quit pretending it's the comp world against the Tanksleys or you might insult somebody who does take this serious as myself, just a thought.
9- Run your ship the way you need to run it, nobody' trying to tell you how to run your ship. If you can run your car without working on it and win rounds, God bless you.

Alan, after thinking about it, I think we need to just drop it, because I honestly think it would be best. The truth is, you're right, you never pinpointed us in a negative manner. However, we felt as if you were undermining those who have ideas to change comp when you used the word garbage in your first post. That's who we were defending, not just us, but everyone. Your first post does have its strong points, but at this point, it doesn't matter. We just got off on the wrong foot, and I would appreciate it if you are willing, as I am, to drop this whole argument, because it honestly, at this point, makes no sense whatsoever. LOL

It's sort of like I said to Brian Landies, "Life is too short" for having arguments over the internet. LOL

By the way, we work like dogs, not puppies, but dogs at the racetrack. We don't sweat droplets, we sweat gallons. We don't change just a few parts, we change everything including the wheelie-bar chalk color. LOL

P.S.- Oh, Alan, please reply with some form of diplomacy or understanding so I won't look like such a big pu$$y for trying to be nice. LOL

Jeremy, no offense taken. I do feel that all of us are in the same ship and weather it sinks or floats depends on how we handle ourselves as a group collectively. If we all can focus on respecting each and every persons views and values as they pertain to comp instead of trying to piss on each other everytime we get the chance, we might have a remote chance of actually coming up with solutions to real problems that exist today in comp. It doesn't cost anything to be nice!

I've been racing since the mid 60s and accomplised a number of National wins and a National Championship. Competition Eliminator was the future of Drag Racing then and now with all the inovative ideas and creativity. We raced for a class Trophy before being able to enter the elite 16 for the eliminator. Now we have 32 qualifiers and an INTERNET service that brings out the wining and crying of grown men because someone is quicker than you. Some want to change the structure of comp to make it a sissy camp. If you want to bracket race NHRA has made eliminators to accomodate you. Some people have unlimited funds to back the classes they want to jump to but since the creation of a two class limit it has helped the average guy. Since I'm in a BITCH mode I want to say the personal index thought is not only stupid but very imature solution to dedication and hard work.

Some people wined for a jr pro stock class, it was in comp already B/A.
Then the wining for A, B, C, D etc automatic dragster classes well the wining prevailed and bingo AD/A, BD/A, CD/A etc. Whats next to wine about.
Work on your $hit and give the Internet racing a break.

MY THOUGHTS ON A VERY HOT DAY IN NEW ORLEANS

Richie, you're a little late. I mean, everything has sort of cooled off. Not the weather by no means, but the debating has slowed down a bit for now.

I could get it started back up again. It's simple, since I have a marvelous idea. How about no index hits on or against a redlight run?

LOL. Anyhow, is Raymond excited about or ready for Indy? How about Steven?
