Why did most of the Pro Stock teams not participate in the race? Too busy watching that amazing Superbowl?

They where too busy blowing their tires off. It must have been real cold there.

Tracks temps in the 40s and 50s made it a waste of time.

Yep! that will do it. I was watching on the web cast, I'd figured it was cold because they had on heavy jackets.

Why does everybody need perfect conditions to run in? Doesn't anybody know how to tune for less than stellar conditions? If it is the "why bother because it costs too much" mentality, maybe they shouldn't be there at all.
Granted nobody is going to run earth shattering numbers, but all imput is good.

Because it's dangerous to run on a cold track...try sending a B/A down a 50 degree track, the data will be useless, especially if you put your car in the wall, trying....

Rodney from Humphrey's team called yesterday and said they were excited to see 70 degree track temps all weekend. Big part of the reason they made it down was Bob's experience running Pro Stock on damn near dirt tracks.
It was an ugly weekend, but a lot of them tested yesterday. Looked like AJ topped it with a 68 @ 206. Air has been good, track is terrible.

We don`t even start our motor if is cold .We blew the intake off and hurt the carbs with a hell of fire once .So now we just wait till its hot outside. Yes we did have the timming backed down . We look at the weather if its cold or wind or rain we stay home.

Which is a great way to be, but if you are already at a race with money on the line get after it. Apparently Humpherys didn't have too much trouble. Running in cold or very hot isn't fun. Lots of changes have to be made. Fuel, timing, suspension, air pressure, ect. It is all part of getting down and doing it.
