    Quickest/Fastest Period in comp?

There is a new "real" comp car that most likely can go -.90+, but why would they? Just because an index is soft and a fast guy shows up doesn't make it any less of a comp car. Especially when the class has been around for 10+ years. There have been a few .80-.90+ cars in the last 10-20 years...

    Quickest/Fastest Period in comp?

Does anyone have this info saved anywhere? Rickie Smith went [email protected] in his nitrous pro mod. I'm assuming thats the ET record, but not sure if a turbo car has been higher speed.

In search of a altered chassis builder?

I would check with Jonnie Lindberg too. SUPER talented guy and his builds look and perform really well.

Taking the Complicated out of our Index Numbers

I think another casual fan friendly aspect of this is that it's a half second quicker showing up on the board. I think it's gonna look a lot cooler seeing 6.67 on the board vs a 7.17!

    New Class?????

Any real BB car will pretty much be obsolete if that's the case. The ford being 327 with BB weight would be 200lbs lighter than they are in FX! That would have to easily be a 1.xxx under car.

    New Class?????

Does anyone know how close the current FX cars are to fitting in BB?

    Qualifying points idea.

If you start taking index hits for qualifying runs too its going to cause much more sandbagging in comp qualifying than there already is.

    AH/SM 9.10 Index Proposal

Did some leg work back to 2009. This really shows just how comical the current index is.

Nhra adds 2 new comp classes

I just did this using actual record runs listed and not the minimum required. The average of all /SM records is -.728, average of all /SMA is -.658, and average of all SM/SMA records combined is -.696. If you take the average of all SM/SMA that are over -.61 its -.751. (F/SM, F/SMA, and H/SMA...

Nhra adds 2 new comp classes

Wow I didn't realize how much the fords were helped this year. Skillman went 7.704 at Brandenton, .766 under this comp index at the NMCA event. Next closest non ford would have only been .536 under though! Here is a link to the qualifying sheet if you are interested...

Nhra adds 2 new comp classes

Honestly both indexes look a bit shit. They are just now dipping in the 7's with the absolute best FSS cars. I would think those guys wouldn't even run comp to begin with. NHRA should put .20 on top of both of those indexes so there are at least a few cars that can even go .60 under. At this...

    200 Mph

Looks like Lingenfelter ran a 6 in 1986 and Gray went 200 in 1993.

Pro Stock vs 4 cylinder Comp car

Is it exactly as your car sits now or do you get to add more power? If its as it sits, easy $10k pay day for the pro stocker!

    Top half of field?

Yeah that is what I was thinking until I saw the updated personal index list and he wasn't on there. Thought possibly they did something different I was not aware of.

    Top half of field?

Thats interesting, thanks! It appears NHRA has made a mistake then from the Reynolds D2 race. Chuck Haubiel went -.65 in elims and did not get his index hit.

    Top half of field?

How can both be top half? Say we go out to 5 cars then, is 1-3 top half, 4 and 5 bottom half or 1 and 2 top half, 3-5 bottom half? There has to be an actual cutoff for the mineshaft ruling.

    Top half of field?

In an odd number of cars field, where does the top half/bottom half end? Example Rockingham, there are only 3 cars, so would 1 and 2 be the top half and 3 be the bottom half or only #1 be on the top half?

No Stirring the pot..... Please read and thoughtfully respond

People sitting in the stands aren't looking at NHRA documents or browsing forums though. All of the other classes are simple to understand, either heads up or trying to run the actual number on the board.

Indy - US Nationals #1 qualifier

    I'm gonna guess .811 under for #1.
